Thai One On
June 16, 2008
If you're a fan of Thai food then I would
recommend a visit to the annual Thai
Chicago Festival at Daley Plaza this
week. Being Thai and coming from a family
of notable Thai cooks (one aunt was the
personal chef to the King and Queen of
Thailand and another invented Siracha
sauce), it's always a treat for me to
find authentic Thai cooking that reminds
me of my aunt’s cooking when we'd visit
Bangkok. Thai Festival Chicago is one of
those places that brings me back to my
heritage.
The festival also features a fashion show, traditional dancing, Thai kickboxing and games. Maybe this year I'll look up from my sticky rice and papaya salad long enough to enjoy these shows.
Hope to see you there! Sawadee krup!
